341 Main Road | Isle au Haut
Welcome to our island home! Located just steps from the main town landing dock, this location offers easy access to the mailboat and the general store. The house sleeps 8-10 people and features four bedrooms: a King, two Queens, and a bunk room, along with two bathrooms. There's also a charming sleeping cottage with a Queen bed (note: no bathroom). Inside, the main level provides ample space, including a cozy living room, den, dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen. One of the home’s highlights is the expansive wrap-around porch overlooking the thoroughfare and is a great place to read, relax, and enjoy a cocktail with friends. Half of the porch is screened in, complete with a large dining table, perfect for enjoying lobster dinners outside while staying bug-free. The property offers spacious front and backyards, and guests are welcome to use our truck to explore the island during their stay.
We love this island and home very much and hope that you do too!

Details
Getting to the Island: Isle au Haut Boat Services provides year-round mail and passenger transportation between Stonington and Isle au Haut. Please check the mailboat website for up-to-date schedules.
Transportation: Rental comes with the use of a truck. We ask that renters please fill the gas tank back up upon departure at the island store. Renters should plan to bring their own bikes. The mailboat charges a fee for bikes.
Wifi/Cell Service: There is wifi at the house, but limited cell service on the entire island.
Grocery: There is a small island store that stocks the essentials. We encourage all guests to support and shop at the store as much as possible during your stay, but please note that this is a small general store and likely does not have speciality items and is limited on fresh produce and meat. Visit the store facebook page for more info.
Linens & Towels: The house is fully stocked with linens and towels, including beach towels. There is a washer & dryer.
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, serving ware, etc. - everything one would need.
Dog Friendly: This is a dog-friendly home, we just ask that you be mindful of picking up their waste in the yard, and keeping them from running into the main road, as well as adhering to the National Park leash rules.
Trash and Recycling: The island has very strict guidelines regarding trash and recycling. Please refer to the guidelines here as well as the guidelines posted at the house to ensure compliance. We expect all visitors to adhere to these rules. A charge will be added if we need to handle the trash that is not properly sorted. Thank you!
No Smoking & No Fires: We ask that all guests refrain from smoking indoors and do not use any of the indoor woodstoves. Our insurance policy does not cover the use of the woodstoves and the flues have been closed for the summer season.
Quirks: Isle au Haut is a unique and special place to visit. Please keep in mind that this island is home to a small year-round community that live and work and play there. Drive slowly, be respectful of others, and adhere to the national park and town landing rules. There are no restaurants on the island. Our home has many quirks that are not suitable to those that are used to luxury rentals or like to complain. The water pressure can be an issue if multiple water sources are being used at the same time (i.e. shower, kitchen sink, washer). Doors take alittle finagling to shut sometimes. There is only one bathroom upstairs shared between four bedrooms (but two showers in the house). One bedroom doesn’t have a closet, only a bureau. Our truck is an old 1998 Chevy, built for the roads on Isle au Haut, but not fancy! You get the point. We welcome visitors that relish in being off the beaten path, enjoying time cooking meals with friends and family, exploring the wilderness and stunning Maine coastline.
